Chemical Express S.r.l. presents its Sustainability Report 2025, setting out the progress made during a year of strategic consolidation, innovation and responsible growth. The report describes how environmental, social and governance principles are increasingly integrated into our business model, supporting more informed decisions, stronger operational resilience and the creation of long-term shared value.
In 2025, Chemical Express travelled more than 20.9 million kilometres and transported 688,935 tonnes of goods across its European logistics network. Our decarbonisation pathway continued through the use of 459,667 litres of HVO, the optimisation of transport operations, the development of intermodal services and the introduction of advanced fleet-monitoring technologies.
Our environmental commitment is supported by structured measurement and transparent reporting. Total greenhouse gas emissions for the reporting year amounted to 17,763.7 tCO₂eq. The company generated 170,127 kWh of renewable electricity through its photovoltaic system, compared with 46,033 kWh of electricity purchased from the grid. Intermodal transport and lower-emission fuels also enabled reductions of up to approximately 89% in CO₂ equivalent emissions compared with the reference all-road diesel scenario.
People remain central to our sustainability strategy. Chemical Express employed more than 130 people in 2025 and delivered 2,718 hours of training, with a strong focus on safety, technical skills, digitalisation and continuous professional development. We also continued to promote wellbeing, inclusion, stakeholder dialogue and a shared culture of prevention throughout the organisation.
Our governance model is founded on transparency, integrity, accountability and regulatory compliance. The company operates an integrated management system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 39001 standards, while continuing its work on organisational controls, risk management and ethical conduct. Our participation in the United Nations Global Compact, Responsible Care and leading sector associations further supports our commitment to responsible chemical logistics.
